You Are a Question Mark

You seek knowledge and insight in every form possible. You love learning.

And while you know a lot, you don't act like a know it all. You're open to learning you're wrong.

You ask a lot of questions, collect a lot of data, and always dig deep to find out more.

You're naturally curious and inquisitive. You jump to ask a question when the opportunity arises.

Your friends see you as interesting, insightful, and thought provoking.

(But they're not always up for the intense inquisitions that you love!)

You excel in: Higher education

You get along best with: The Comma

Have you ever heard a song that you feel was written just for you?

Which song, and why?

So, I was thinking I might make a separate, friends-locked LJ account, in which I could post things which I have written, and people might comment on them.

Thoughts?

I'd have to learn to make LJ cuts. Nifty.

You scored as Either. You brain is neither specifically male, nor female in the way you perceive your surroundings. As bad as this may sound to some, it can easily mean that you are capable of combining both gender aspects to your advantage. Rather than being genderless you are possibly able think freely. This does not mean that you are bisexual or androgynous or indecisive, but it might.

BOOK'D [Apr. 28th, 2006|06:14 pm]

I have too many books to read. I don't get enough time to read them. This was my summer reading list:

City of Saints and Madmen – Jeff Vandermeer
American Psycho – Brett Easton Ellis
The Covenant Rising – Stan Nicholls
Lord Foul’s Bane – Stephen R. Donaldson
The Illearth Wars – Stephen R. Donaldson
The Power That Preserves – Stephen R. Donaldson
The Golden Compass – Phillip Pullman (reading this now - don't really care for Pullman's voice.)
The Subtle Knife – Phillip Pullman
The Amber Spyglass – Phillip Pullman
Lord of Emperors – Guy Gavriel Kay
The Wayfarer Redemption – Sarah Douglass
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell – Susanna Clarke

And then I went to the bookstore for batteries, and got these:

The Book Of Changes – Richard H. W. Dillard
The Amulet of Samarkand – Jonathan Stroud
Bronze Mirror – Jean Larsen
Shadowmancer – G. P. Taylor
Wormwood – G. P Taylor

I also got batteries though. And raspberry altoids. Oh, and according to my stubborn friends, I also have to read these:

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - I shouldn't have to freaking tell you.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - I probably didn't spell that right, and I don't care. Though, that would be a great porno title - Harry Potter, Prisoner of Asskaban!
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Death of Dumbledore - I mean . . . Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter and the Mysterious Seventh Title

All these books probably weigh more than I do.

You scored as Magician. You are a Magician. Your raison d'etre is to gain knowledge, power, wisdom, and the respect of your peers. If you are ridiculed in a public forum, you either wimper off with your tail between your legs until you grow up, or you come back with both barrels blazing.... but calmly, of course. After all, to show emotion is to show weakness. You'd much prefer to use logic and rational argument and out-cite your opponent!

Got this from Carmen!

Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 Guilty Pleasures" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their 5 Guilty Pleasures as well as state this rule. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names.

1.) Buying a new game when I have others that need playing
2.) Buying a new book when I have others that need reading
3.) Buying unnecesary things from the campus bookstore (since I have the paid account)
4.) Sleeping until 12-1 almost every day
5.) Staying up late and typing - it annoys the hell out of my roommate.

Tags to whoever wants it!

Got this from Kiki!

My pirate name is:

Black Mary Read

Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. Even through many pirates have a reputation for not being the brightest souls on earth, you defy the sterotypes. You've got taste and education. Arr!

Get your own pirate name from fidius.org.

So, I've decided to go insane and participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year. I figure they're on to something with the whole "A nasting fecking deadline will get their asses motivated" idea. I'd recommend it to anyone who has trouble just -starting- writing. I'll be happy to spot you and everyone knows I need people to spot me. The goal is to get to 50,000 words between midnight November first and midnight November thirtieth. Anyone with me? Go to http://www.nanowrimo.org/ for more info.
